jonokli Every part in every section of each song has been deliberately crafted, there's absolutely no laziness in this, nothing just thrown in for the hell of it, nothing missing. Its like a 10,000 piece puzzle, its so complex but it comes together perfectly, as if anything slightly different wouldn't sound quite right. Favorite track: Nothing Changes.

Harrowingly beautiful music for an incredibly bittersweet cause. This is music with soul and catharsis.

about

I've always dabbled with composition and songwriting since I was a teenager but I stopped writing when my daughter was born in 2013. For one thing, I just didn't have the time!

In 2018 however, I lost my 5 year old daughter to sepsis. It utterly transformed everything I thought I knew about the world and how I felt about myself and the last thing on my mind was writing music.
But one day I decided to sit back down at the keyboard, just to see what would happen. The music didn't exactly pour out of me, fully formed like in the movies but I did have a few melodies, chord structures; just very loose ideas.
In the months that followed, these ideas have slowly come together to create 5 pieces of music. Some of them came together very quickly, some of them incredibly slowly but now they're finished and I want to share them with the world.

I'm very proud of Assemblage, my first ever proper release and think it conveys a wide range of emotions. Some tracks are melancholy, some have veiled anger buried inside them and some contain glimmers of hope and memories of happiness.

I don’t think I will ever be able to truly articulate my feelings or pay a fitting tribute, through music or any other means, but hopefully she’s out there somewhere and liking what she hears.

All profits from this EP will be donated to the The UK Sepsis Trust.
